The month of May has proven to be very merry for Kerry's favourite rally crew, Tom Randles and Diarmuid Lynch, who have recorded a double success over the past couple of weeks.  They were the outright winners of their class on the 2002 Rally of the Lakes on the Bank Holiday Weekend, and followed it up on the Sunday after by taking maximum class points on the Carlow Rally, the latest round of the National Rally Championship.

The Hewsion championship makes its annual visit to Kerry for a double header promoted by both Kerry Motor Club and Killarney and District Motor Club with the prize giving cermony for last years championship taking place in The Abbeygate Hotel In Tralee on the Saturday night .

Cork RS 2002 is here again

The biggest Irish run club show is back again this year bigger and better than ever. It is booked for the 12th of May and is being held again at the Showgrounds in Cork.It is being kindly sponsered by Corks biggest and best Ford dealer Cavanaghs of Blackrock, CAB.

This year is again being run in aid of local charity and we raised over six thousand pounds last year and had six to seven thousand vistors.We hope to double both figures this year. Between 230 and 250 cars showed last year representing all the popular makes.Of course the Ford RS range took center stage but we also had porchse club of Ireland,Subaru Turbo Drivers Club,Opel Owners Club and various other performace makes.

2002 Peugeot 206 Super Cup Calendar Posted: December 19, 2001 8:20 AM

The 206 Super Cup, the most exciting one-make rally series in the UK, is delighted to announce a fantastic calendar for its 2002 programme.

The Cup will follow most of the events in the revised British Rally Championship, tackling classic stages from England to Wales, Scotland to Ireland, as well as incorporating one of the BTRDA rounds, the Quinton Rally in mid-Wales. In addition, it will include the now traditional trip across the Channel, to contend a round of the French National Championship, competing against their Gallic 206 counterparts. Rounding off the championship will see a promotional event, similar to the Banbury Rally which ran in 2001, with the details still to be confirmed.

A full house turned up at the Fincourt to celebrate Rory's works drive on Friday night last.

Rory's team manager Tom Walsh spoke of his three years with Rory and how he has matured into the star he is today. And to add a flash of colour to the night, the King of Irish Tarmac - Billy Coleman attended and spoke to the packed house about his days driving his various cars and the change from being a privateer to becoming a works driver. He said that Rory was a natural talent and can go a long way.
